No More Babies! Rod Says New Addition to the Family Will Be His Last

For years he has been widely regarded as one of the most infamous Lotharios of recent years, thanks to his string of famous and glamorous ex wives and girlfriends. However, following the birth of his 8th child, it is clear to see how singer Rod Stewart has settled down for good with wife, model Penny Lancaster following the birth of his new son, Aiden.

Following the birth of his son, Stewart, 66, has announced that the newest addition will be the last to the Stewart clan. Some may believe that this is as a result of Rod’s somewhat mature age, but he has revealed that it is in fact due to the long and frustrating process they went through in order to conceive their newborn. The couple, who also have a five year old son, Alistair, have revealed that they spent two years trying to conceive and Miss Lancaster, 39, underwent three rounds of IVF in order to conceive their recent addition.

The pregnancy was not officially announced to the press for quite some time as Miss Lancaster had devastatingly suffered two miscarriages in their previous attempts to conceive following Alistair’s birth. On announcing they were expecting again, Stewart stated that his other 7 children were extremely happy about welcoming a new brother or sister into the family as he had previously notified them that he and his wife had been trying for a baby for some time: ‘They’ve known for a couple of years we’ve been trying for a baby and they’re delighted,’ he said at the time.

On the prospect of adding more children to the Stewart brood, Rod said: ‘I can’t have any more kids, otherwise I’ll be touring until I’m 90.’ However, he later admitted that the final decision may be left up to his wife as he said he would do ‘pretty much anything’ in order to keep his model wife happy. However, Stewart was keen to note that he won’t be opting for a vasectomy to eliminate the possibility of any babies in the future as he ‘still wants his bits to work’.

Aiden is the 8th child for Rod who has fathered with 5 different women, whose ages range from 15 to 46. His eldest, Sarah Streeter is just 7 years older than Miss Lancaster and was conceived when Rod was just 18 years old. Of fathering a young child at such a young age, Rod has been honest enough to admit that he abandoned Sarah who spent the first four years of her life in a children’s home before becoming adopted. She has never formed any form of relationship with her biological father. During his marriage to former model Alana Stewart, Rod had two children, Kimberely, 30 and Sean, 29 who has been in and out of the media over the years due to his addiction to drink and drugs. After his split from Alana, Rob had a brief relationship with model Kelly Emberg, which results in the birth of Ruby, 23 who is believed to have inherited her father’s musical talents. Before his marriage to Miss Lancaster, Rod was married to New Zealand born model Rachel Hunter, with whom he has a daughter Renee, 18 and a son Liam, 15.
